Realme 5i Now Officially Launched in Nepal for Rs 20,990

With the end of 2019, a lot of companies won some battles but lost the war. Some newcomers made a huge impact and honestly, managed to make bigger companies suffer a lot even though they lost the war as well. Realme is one of those relatively new companies that’s taken the entire market by storm.

With its initial aim to take down Xiaomi, its managed to create an empire just out of its army of mid-range and budget tier smartphones. Did you know, there were more than a dozen generals leading the huge Realme empire in 2019 alone? I mean, just imagine the number of phones that Realme produced in 2019.

Well, it looks like Realme isn’t just going to give up that momentum right now. Because we have just received confirmation from Realme Nepal that the Realme 5i is now available for purchase via offline stores and is surprisingly placed at a controversial price of Rs 20,990 for the 4/64GB variant.

Let’s leave the controversial part for the conclusion, for now, talking about the phone itself, it isn’t completely new and is basically more of a slightly boosted version of the Realme 5. So, to what extent does it resemble the Realme 5? Well, we shall know about it right after we through this quick analysis of the Realme 5i.

Realme 5i Specification Analysis
As expected from a mid-ranger, the phone sports a full plastic structure around the sides and rear with glass taking up most of the frontal end. The glass does have a small gap towards the top center which is occupied by a 8MP selfie camera. In the display department, it fancies a 6.52” IPS LCD screen with resolutions topping at 720p.

Under the hood, the phone features a Snapdragon 665 processor coupled with a 4GB ROM and 64GB internals. The storage can further be prolonged up to 256GB so no worries for storage at all. The phone also shows off color OS 6.0 on top of Android P.

The camera setup isn’t all that different from the Realme 5. The same old 12MP acts as the primary sensor with 8MP ultrawide, 2MP depth sensor, and 2MP macro camera completing the rear camera setup. Over to the front, we have an 8MP sensor which is alright, I guess.

Finally, to power the whole device, we have a humongous 5000mAh battery size. This should undoubtedly give you more than a day and half of juice in a single charge. But, the 10W standard charging is a bit of a bore. To juice up such a huge amount with such a small charger will definitely take a long time.

Realme 5 Price in Nepal, Availability and Impression
As I mentioned earlier, the phone is priced at a controversial price of Rs 20,990. Controversial in this case because the phone starts at an introductory marked price, of INR 8,999. Converting that price to NPR should’ve cost the phone no more that Rs 18,000. And honestly, for 18k, I wouldn’t have hesitated to recommend the phone at all. But now with the pricings finally revealed, I’m getting second thoughts.

I mean, just look at the competition, Redmi Note 8. 1080p resolution, 48MP primary camera, and 18W fast charging of the Redmi Note 8, this phone provides it for a much lower price of Rs 18,999. Just comparing these two phones side by side, its clear which is the most worth it’s price. But hey, let’s set my decision aside and now you tell me, is it worth your expectations?
